Ostrogoth

Like their better-known compatriots Acid and Killer, Belgian rock band Ostrogoth released a string of albums with the Mausoleum label from 1983, but their origins actually dated completely back again to the mid-’70s, if they began operating their way through several lineups and different musical styles. Nonetheless it wasn’t until vocalist Marc De Brouwer and second guitarist Rudy Vercruysse became a member of existing users Hans Vehicle de Kerkhove (acoustic guitar), Marnix Vehicle de Kauter (bass), and Mario Pauwels (drums) in 1981 that Ostrogoth resolved on a personal formula educated by the brand new Wave of English ROCK and burgeoning Continental Western success stories just like the Scorpions and Accept. Having used vibrant pseudonyms to circular out their fresh path (De Brouwer was “Crimson Celebrity,” Vandekerkhove “Sphinx,” Vercruysse “White colored Shark,” De Kauter “Bronco,” and Pauwels “Grizzly”), the quintet go about documenting 1983’s Total Moon’s Eye EP individually, but was provided a offer by these Mausoleum following a regional radio train station premiered two of its tunes. There adopted two full-length Ostrogoth albums in 1984’s Ecstasy and Risk and 1985’s As well Warm, but their moderate sales led to a full-scale music group implosion the next 12 months that spared just Vercruysse and Pauwels, while ushering in fresh vocalist Peter De Wint (ex-Crossfire), Brazilian-born guitarist Juno Martins, bassist Sylvain Cherotti, and, most tellingly, a keyboardist called Kris Taerwe. Provided all these adjustments, it was never amazing that Ostrogoth’s audio also returned practically unrecognizable for 1987’s exceedingly industrial Emotions of Fury LP, nor that this band’s watered-down reinvention alienated many enthusiasts and resulted in its demise quickly thereafter. Vercruysse, Pauwels, and close friends ultimately regrouped Ostrogoth to get a one-off efficiency in Athens (the Greeks getting major trad-metal fans) and commemorated the function by placing several tracks in the Mausoleum 20th Wedding anniversary Concert live record (alongside Doro and Killer), however they possess remained silent since.
