Os Gatos

Operating-system Gatos were among the best-loved bossa nova sets of the mid-’60s, in spite of only saving two albums. An all-star conglomeration, the music group included head and guitarist Durval Ferreira, pianist Eumir Deodato, bassist Sergio Barroso, and drummer Wilson das Neves. Deodato’s exceptional arranging abilities helped make Operating-system Gatos’ self-titled debut a significant album in the annals of Brazilian pop. Aquele Som Dos Gatos implemented in 1966, and even though it had been the band’s last record, each member continuing to create inroads within the jazz/samba moments of both Brazil and America through the 1960s and ’70s (Deodato and Das Neves specifically).
