Orishas

Orishas certainly are a Latin rap band of Cuban expatriates whose debut recording, A Lo Cubano (2000), was internationally acclaimed and whose subsequent albums found out them furthering their fusion of Latin rhythms and melodies with hip-hop. Made up of Roldán (created Roldán González Rivero on June 1, 1971, in San Felipe, Cuba), Ruzzo (Hiram Riverí Medina; May 26, 1972; Havana, Cuba), and Yotuel (Yotuel Omar Romero Manzanares; Oct 6, 1976; Havana, Cuba), the group was created in Paris, France, in the past due ’90s. The initial lineup also included Flaco-Pro (Liván Nuñez Alemán; Dec 24, 1973; Havana, Cuba), who remaining the group following its debut recording. Prior to shifting to Paris and developing Orishas with Roldán and Flaco-Pro, Ruzzo and Yotuel have been members from the pioneering Cuban rap group Amenaza. In cooperation with maker Nicolas Nocchi (aka Niko Noki), Orishas produced their full-length recording debut in 2000 having a Lo Cubano, a groundbreaking Latin rap recording that fused Afro-Cuban rhythms, hip-hop beats, melodic performing, and socially mindful raps to worldwide acclaim. Reduced to some trio following the departure of Flaco-Pro, Orishas processed their musical fusion on the second recording, Emigrante (2002), that was even more melodic than their debut, towards the chagrin of some followers who preferred the group’s rapping with their performing. Un Kilo (2005), the 3rd Orishas recording, was an additional refinement from the group’s musical fusion. Furthermore, El Kilo continuing to broaden the group’s reputation, particularly in European countries, where the record charted in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, and Portugal. A triple-disc Compact disc/Dvd movie compilation, Antidiotico (2007), was eventually assembled, compiling features from the group’s three albums up to now alongside remixes, non-album materials, and a few brand-new recordings, plus movies. Cosita Buena (2008), the 4th Orishas record, followed a calendar year later and once again discovered the group changing musically. After extended touring that had taken the trio to varied music fesitvals in Latin America and European countries, Orishas proceeded to go silent witrh each of its associates living in an alternative European town and pursuing specific songwriting, making and arranging tasks. In January 2016, Yotuel had taken to the band’s Facebook web page to announce the fact that trio were documenting an record of new materials tobe issued afterwards in the entire year.
