Original Creole Band

Among the great rings to haven’t recorded, the initial Creole Music group was a significant early group, one which helped introduce jazz to LA and Chicago. Bassist Expenses Johnson founded the music group like a trio in 1908 and after it added cornetist Ernest Coycault and a trombonist, it remaining New Orleans to tour the Southwest. The group resolved in LA for a while and for some time its pianist was Dink Johnson. By 1914 the music group had become very popular in L.A. therefore Johnson delivered to New Orleans for cornetist Freddie Keppard, clarinetist George Bacquet and trombonist Eddie Vincent. From 1914-17 THE INITIAL Creole Music group performed theatres and experienced lengthy stints in Chicago and NY. The group split up in Boston in the springtime of 1917 but Johnson created another group using the same name half a year later on that lasted until Apr 1918 and included Big Vision Louis Nelson and Jimmie Noone. Johnson documented one quantity (“Tack ‘Em Down”) along with his Creole Jass Music group on Dec 2, 1918 for Victor, but regrettably it was by no means issued. You can just speculate the way the Original Creole Music group sounded, but from all reviews it was among the initial (and greatest) New Orleans jazz groupings to be noticed beyond the Crescent Town through the pre-1920 period.
