Orcas

Orcas is a cooperation between Pacific Northwest-based sound-shapers Thomas Meluch and Rafael Anton Irisarri, both of whom are better referred to as Benoit Pioulard as well as the View Below, respectively. The set blended their unique yet harmonious methods to tunes equally influenced by digital and ambient music on Orcas’ self-titled debut recording, that was released in 2012 by Morr Music and presented a cover of Broadcast’s “Until After that,” focused on that group’s past due vocalist Trish Keenan. For 2014’s Yearling, Meluch and Irisarri added Telekinesis’ Michael Lerner and Efterklang’s Martyn Heyne towards the fold to check the album’s lusher and even more direct music.
