Optimo refers both towards the Glaswegian DJ duo of J.D. Twitch and J.G. Wilkes and, as Optimo Espacio, towards the membership night they’ve operate in their indigenous town since 1997. Twitch (blessed Keith McIvor) and Wilkes will be the following generation from the cross-pollination that flowered on the Hacienda in the Madchester period circa 1988 and 1989, when it instantly became socially appropriate to like both indie electric guitar pop and digital dance styles like home and hi-NRG disco. As the duo’s hype is continuing to grow and Optimo Espacio is becoming among the highest profile membership evenings in the U.K., Twitch and Wilkes possess begun launching live DJ mixes that replicate the eclectic but masterfully designed evenings at Optimo Espacio, you start with the manic double-disc How exactly to Wipe out the DJ, Pt. 2 in 2004. The greater thematic Psyche Out, an exploration of mind-altering music from Hawkwind as well as the Chambers Brothers to Throbbing Gristle and Chris & Cosey, implemented in 2005, itself accompanied by the wide-ranging Walkabout 2 yrs afterwards.
