Optiganally Yours

Optiganally Yours began with Pea Hix’s (previously of Tit Wrench and Lucas & Friend) desire for the Optigan, a keyboard stated in the first and mid-’70s simply by Mattel. An “optical body organ,” the Optigan shops its noises — starting from organs and strings to drum loops and sound files — on the assortment of celluloid optical discs. Hix discovered his 1st Optigan in 1995 in a Salvation Military and finally added twelve even more to his arsenal. He recruited his friend Rob Crow (ex-Heavy Vegetable in addition to a person in Thingy, Pinback, and Physics) like a collaborator, as well as the duo’s debut recording, Limelight on Optiganally Yours, came two years later on; its mixture of free, indie pop songwriting and creation and strangely lush arrangements earned essential acclaim from famous brands NME, CMJ, Melody Maker, and Great & Unusual Music Mag, among additional magazines.
