Open Hand

Grunge, post-grunge, stoner rock and roll, emocore, and all of the Dark Sabbath, Soundgarden, and Nirvana worship that is included with those moments are big affects on the audio of Open Hands, plus a surprising contact of prog, thanks a lot in no little component to Justin Isham’s longtime like of Ruler Crimson, early Genesis, and Robert Fripp. Once they both spent amount of time in the Los Angeles-based hardcore music group I Awake, vocalist/guitarist Isham and drummer Alex Rodriguez created Open Submit 2000 with guitarist Sean Woods and previous Not really Waving But Drowning bassist Jeff Meyer. Two self-released EPs plus some flirtation using the main labels ultimately led the group towards the Trustkill label, a haven for weighty rings who weren’t scared to be emo or melodic. The band’s 2003 launch for the label, The Desire, brought Isham’s Crimson and Peter Gabriel impact to the top and comparisons to reside and Taking Back again Sunday within the press. Following a world-wide tour with labelmates Poison the Well, the music group returned house and split. Isham continued alone, writing songs with Open Submit brain. He persuaded drummer Paxton Pryor from his music group the Holiday and both spent the summertime of 2004 developing a record for both emo children and acoustic guitar geeks. Covering a lot of musical floor, the ambitious and epic Me and you found its way to early 2005. Following the album’s launch, bassist Michael Anastasi and guitarist Sean Woods had been put into the music group.
