One Way

This is the later identity of the group originally called the Spirit Companions. Al Hudson, Alicia Myers, guitarists Dave Robertson and Cortez Harris, bassist Kevin McCord, and drummers Gregory Green and Jonathan Meadows had been the original A PROVEN WAY. They first documented as One Method Offering Al Hudson before getting One Way. These were on MCA from 1980 to 1988 and had been consistent performers, otherwise major stars. These were similarly competent at up-tempo, danceable amounts and creditable ballads and like songs, despite the fact that they never really had a great business lead vocalist after Myers departed. They have scored five TOP R&B strikes, with the largest getting “Cutie Pie,” which reached number 4 in 1982. They shifted to Capitol in 1988, where they released A FRESH From 1989.
