On Thorns I Lay

Originally named Phlebotomy, Greece’s In Thorns I Lay began in 1992, recording a demo along with a 7″ EP below that name prior to making the name-switch with time because of their 1995 debut album, Sound of Beautiful Experience. Seriously influenced by loss of life/doom metal works like Heaven Lost and Anathema within their infancy, On Thorns I Lay would progress along an identical route as these rings during the period of following albums Orama (1997), Crystal Tears (1999), and Upcoming Narcotic (2000), ultimately coming to a much less extreme make of really difficult rock and roll, infused with melancholy and atmospheric Gothic nuances. During this time period, founding people Chris Dragmestianos (acoustic guitar) and Stefanos Kintzoglou (bass), collaborated with several henchmen, in fact relocating to Romania in 1995 for his or her graduate research, and dealing with Elena Doroftei (vocals/viola), Ioanna Doroftei (piano/keyboards), and Andrew Olaru (drums), before coming back house to Athens in the entire year 2000. After inviting new users Minas G. (guitars/vocals), and Fotis (drums), and starting up with Dark Lotus Information, On Thorns I Lay’s following produces, 2001’s Angeldust and 2003’s Egocentric, continued discovering their self-labeled “Pure Depressive Metallic.”
