O’Landa Draper went to Memphis State School, where he produced a mass choir (the Affiliates) that afterwards performed with Shirley Caesar (on “Keep My Mule”), the Winans, Nicholas, Timothy Wright, Myrna Summers, among others. Draper documented for Phrase/Epic ahead of his loss of life from kidney failing on July 21, 1998, and his group continuing to record and perform beneath the name O’Landa Draper’s Affiliates.
