Okros Ensemble

The folk music traditions of Hungary are extended with the playing of violinist Casaba Okros and his group, The Okros Outfit. Within the last 10 years, the group offers toured across the world and it has collaborated with such performers as violinist Sandor Fodor “Neti,” the final living exponent from the Hungarian folk music from the Kalotaszeg area of Transylvania and vocalist Marta Sebestyen. Okros’ understanding of Hungarian folk music was obtained at and learning with folk music artists in the remote control villages of Hungary and Transylvania. Ahead of forming Okros Outfit, Okros performed with Uistilus Outfit. Furthermore to performing using the Hungarian Condition Folk Outfit as well as the Kodaly Folk Dance Movie theater, Okros provides performed using the Muzsikas Outfit, with whom he made an appearance within the film, “Music Container”. The Okros Outfit also features violinist Miklos Molnar, kontra (viola) players Laszlo Kelemen and Laszlo Mester and bassist Robert Door. A genuine member, Molnar also acts as business lead violinist from the Budapest Outfit. Transylvania-born and elevated Kelemen also acts as musical movie director and author of the Budapest Outfit.
