Odean Pope

A fiery and frequently intense tenor saxophonist, Odean Pope was a significant member of Potential Roach’s quartet from 1979. Pope was raised in Philadelphia, had taken some essential musical lessons from Ray Bryant, and acquired short organizations with organist Jimmy McGriff and Artwork Blakey’s Jazz Messengers.
