Octet

The French electronic pop duo Octet is made up of François Goujon and Benjamin Morando. Goujon, a Rennes indigenous and previous drummer using a music group known as Lighthouse, and Morando, a Parisian and an associate from the D*I*R*T*Y audio system, originally conceived Octet being a totally electronic clothing, but soon discovered that they recommended to integrate glitchy, playful electronica with an increase of traditional types of instrumental and vocal pop and spirit, aswell as components of traditional music. Octet’s initial EP, The Buxtehude Years 1999-2001, shown this dichotomy: showing off vocal tracks offering Suzanne Thoma (who in addition has collaborated with M83) aswell as remixes by Readymade FC, it paved just how for the duo’s initial full-length album, Money and Carry Music, which highlighted Thoma and various other vocalists and a unique mixture of spirit, electronica, traditional, and pop affects. The album premiered in France and Germany in early 2004 and was distributed in the U.S. that summertime.
