Obi Best

After logging many years like a backup vocalist for the Parrot as well as the Bee, singer/songwriter Alex Lilly released her own indie pop project with Obi Best. The group’s animated, quirky music had taken some cues in the Parrot as well as the Bee, but Lilly’s understanding for Stereolab, the Cardigans, and sensitive soundscapes also inspired the materials. Lilly filled Obi Best’s lineup with many musician close friends and retreated towards the studio, where in fact the group documented and digitally released Capades in 2008. A Compact disc release implemented in early 2009, coinciding with another tour alongside the Bird as well as the Bee.
