Noun

Ahead of fronting her screechy indie rock trio, vocalist/guitarist Marissa Paternoster started recording beneath the pseudonym Noun while she was going to senior high school in NJ. Paternoster’s solo function was a lot more subdued than that of Screaming Females and filled up with dark, dreamy melodies representative of PJ Harvey and Siouxsie as well as the Banshees. For five years, almost 40 tunes sat on her behalf father’s laptop computer as Screaming Females worked well to become founded. This year 2010, the recordings resurfaced. After recruiting Miranda Taylor (Dark Wine, Hunchback, Filled with Nice), Angela Boylan (Cheeky), and fellow Screaming Females users Jarrett Dougherty and Ruler Mike to greatly help her flesh out the materials, Paternoster released Noun’s 1st recording, Holy Hell, on Don Giovanni Information.
