St. Louis-based Notaker (Dave Nothaker) generates shimmering, atmospheric EDM that’s even more similar to the past due-’90s/early-2000s heyday of intensifying home and trance compared to the even more intense or hedonistic dance music frequently from the genre. His songs likewise have a suspenseful, cinematic quality to them, affected by soundtrack composers like Hans Zimmer aswell as dreamy digital groupings like M83. His debut one, “Oceanview Dr.,” premiered by Tommie Sunshine’s Brooklyn Fireplace label in 2015. A self-titled three-song EP made an appearance on Positronic in 2016. Then agreed upon to Vancouver-based EDM large Monstercat, which released “Infinite” and “Gems.”
