New York-based DJ/remixer/maker and one of the very most passionate pioneers of Latin home, Norty Cotto became seriously involved with well-known music while functioning alongside John “Jellybean” Benítez on Noel’s 1988 debut record. Motivated by early home — like the post-disco freestyle which surfaced in Latin neighborhoods in main U.S. metropolitan areas — Norty Cotto teamed up with effective acts within the dance music field focusing on records; through the old-school U.S. home to the lively audio of Dominican merengue blended with digital music referred to as merenhouse.
