North of America formed in Dec of 1997 following the break-up of Condition Champs as well as the Motes. With associates of every departed music group collaborating jointly, the Halifax-based quartet induced their pop-punk hooks using a complicated arrangement of mathematics rock and roll and Chapel Hill-influenced indie. Matlock Information debuted North of America’s initial EP Components of an Imperfect Map within half a year of their development. The following season, the band implemented up with the record These Music Are Cursed, once again through Matlock.
