Norma Jean Bell

Prior to learning to be a valued fixture from the Detroit home scene, singer/saxophonist/percussionist/maker Norma Jean Bell earned her stripes like a hired weapon for performers like Frank Zappa, Tommy Bolin, Narada Michael Walden, and Parliament. Within the middle-’90s, Bell became a detailed affiliate of Kenny Dixon Jr. (Moodymann) and both began working collectively on a good part of each other’s result (Dixon began creating the majority of Bell’s paths, while Bell offered sax and vocals on several Dixon’s tracks). Bell began her personal label, Pandamonium, in 1996, but she also installed with Laurent Garnier’s France-based F Marketing communications label, which released her first & most well-known 12″ (I’m the Baddest Bitch) that same yr. Pandamonium got off the bottom in short period, issuing materials from Bell, Dewayne Davis, Sharon Jones, and Billy Lo. By the finish of 1999, Bell got eight of her personal 12″ produces that ranged from swooning disco to heavy funk. A number of the paths from those produces were chosen for ENTER INTO My Space, a Compact disc compilation released in 2001 from the U.K.-centered Peacefrog imprint.
