Equally proficient in soprano, alto and tenor saxophone, Norm Douglas has taken an ultra-smooth method of West Coastline jazz. Since resuming his musical profession, carrying out a five season hiatus, Douglas provides continued to progress being a musician. After learning with southern California-based alto saxophone participant, Paul Carman, in the middle-1980s, Douglas provides continued to discover his unique tone of voice on the device. His debut record, THE VERY FIRST TIME, released in Apr 2000, was a cooperation with pianist/composer/manufacturer Ron Kobayashi, who penned six from the album’s ten music. Douglas showcased his very own skills being a composer with a set of melodic instrumentals — “I COULD GET IT DONE” and “Tara’s Tune”. A graduate of Youngstown Condition College or university in northeast Ohio, where he researched music education, Douglas performed tenor saxophone with some rings in Cleveland and Pittsburgh while still students. Although he briefly proved helpful as a higher school band movie director, he still left music to become salesman. Five years afterwards, he succumbed to the encouragement of close friends and resumed his music profession. He has however to look back again.
