Noise Addict

Australian teenage pop sensations Sound Addict shaped in Bondi Seaside in 1992; led by vocalist/songwriter Ben Lee — most of 13 yrs . old during the band’s formation — the initial lineup also included guitarist Doron Kalinko, bassist Daniel Mapp and drummer Saul Smith. After documenting a demo, Sound Addict performed their initial live time; there these were uncovered by promoter/Fellaheen Information honcho Steve Pavlovic, who transferred along their tape to Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore, who subsequently agreed to concern the demo by himself Ecstatic Serenity label as 1993’s DEF. Another EP, The Flavor in My Eye, followed later on that yr before Lee’s music “I Wish I HAD BEEN Him” — a biting satire within the Lemonheads’ Evan Dando — captured the attention from the Beastie Kids’ Mike D., who instantly signed Sound Addict to his Grand Royal imprint release a 1994’s Adolescent and Jaded. A yr later Lee released his single debut Grandpaw Would, but regardless of the leave of Kalinko (changed by guitarist Romy Hoffman), Sound Addict soldiered to launch their 1st full-length effort, Meet up with the Actual You, later on in 1995. The group disbanded immediately after touring to get Sebadoh, with Lee carrying on on like a single act release a 1997’s Something to keep in mind Me By.
