Noam Pikelny

A virtuoso five-string banjo participant, Noam Pikelny was created Feb 27, 1981 in Chicago, Illinois. His youth, he has stated lightheartedly, was divide between your Chicago Cubs’ Wrigley Field as well as the Aged Town College of Folk Music. He had been playing in traditional bluegrass rings while he was in senior high school, and continued to review music on the School of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, and he transferred to Boulder, Colorado. He became a member of the Colorado ensemble Leftover Salmon in 2002 (he continued to be using the music group until 2004), and 2 yrs later he released his first single album, Within the Maze, on Compass Information. Pikelny relocated to Nashville in 2006 and started using New Lawn Revival bassist and vocalist John Cowan. He also began using mandolinist Chris Thile that same calendar year in the intensifying chamber bluegrass music group Punch Brothers. His second single album, Defeat the Devil & Carry a Rail, made an appearance from Compass Information in 2011, and gained a nomination for Greatest Bluegrass Album on the 2013 Grammy Honours. He earned another nomination in 2015 for his chart-topping 2013 discharge Noam Pikelny Has Kenny Baker Has Costs Monroe. In 2017 he released his 4th LP and first genuine single outing (such as no accompaniment), General Favorite.
