No Motiv

A punk-pop quartet from Oxnard, CA, Simply no Motiv focus on the type of personal introspection and emotional catharsis that defines the subgenre referred to as emocore. They released two albums on Advantage Information, Cynical and Scarred, and shortly became among the initial bands to indication towards the then-fledgling Vagrant Information. No Motiv continuing their recording profession by contributing tracks to films also to Vagrant’s Five Years for the Roads compilation. The second option in particular arranged the stage for No Motiv’s Vagrant label debut recording; As well as the Sadness Prevails premiered in early 1999. Ten trips and 2 yrs later on, Diagram for Recovery, produced by Encounter to Face’s Trever Keith, was released in springtime 2001. Lineup adjustments ensued prior to the release from the Lola EP in June 2003, and January of the next year noticed the darker, older work of Daylight Breaking. By this time around, No Motiv contains Utmost McDonald (vocals, acoustic guitar), Jeremy Palaszewski (vocals, acoustic guitar), Jeff Hershey (bass), and Roger Camero (drums).
