No Exqze

This melodic rock quartet from Holland was formed by ex-Vandenberg bass player Dick Kemper in 1987. Recruiting Geert Scheigrond (electric guitar), Leen Barbier (vocals) and Nico Groen (drums), they agreed upon to Phonogram Information and debuted with TOO MUCH Too Deal with in 1988. No Exqze allowed Kemper to indulge his composing talents, which got previously been suppressed in Vandenberg – not really without justification, it could be argued. Made by Tony Platt, the record was dominated by Barbier’s soulful vocals, which added depth and personality to Kemper’s rather ordinary AOR-style compositions.
