Rock outfit Nitro boasted “the fastest, loudest, highest sound around” — frontman Jim Gillette’s key state to fame was his capability to achieve a scream so high-pitched and piercing it literally shattered the brought in crystal wines goblets he carried on-stage for every performance. Gillette initial fulfilled guitarist Michael Angelo at a seaside party, plus they shortly collaborated in the former’s 1987 single album, Proud to become Loud. As the singer had been known in steel circles for his instructional video series, Jim Gillette’s Steel Power, Angelo was famed for inventing the Increase V-Neck electric guitar, and in Nitro he pressed the idea to its illogical severe using the Quad Electric guitar X-400, an axe with four necks within an X development, each offering seven strings. Gillette and Angelo officially produced Nitro in 1988; bassist T.J. Racer was uncovered via among Gillette’s instructional classes, while drummer Bobby Rock and roll was most widely known for his stint in the Vinnie Vincent Invasion. The band’s debut LP, O.F.R., adopted in 1989. The music group dissolved immediately after, with Gillette later on marrying metallic queen Lita Ford. The Nitro demonstration collection Gunnin’ for Glory made an appearance in 1999.
