Niobe

Created in Frankfurt, Germany, to German and Venezuelan parents and located in Cologne since 1994, vocalist Yvonne Cornelius took her stage name, Niobe, from the type in Greek mythology, the girl of Tantalus, ruler of Sipylos, who considered stone even though crying on the lack of her kids. She was a regular collaborator with Mouse on Mars, showing up, for example, within the band’s recording Radical Connection. She released her debut single recording, Radioersatz, on Tomlab Information in 2001. Concerts in Germany, France, and Mexico helped increase her viewers. The Cologne label Sonig released her follow-up, Tse Tse (2003), and her third recording, Voodooluba (2004), before she came back to Tomlab for White colored Hats, released in European countries on June 26, 2006, and in the U.S. on Oct 31, 2006. He released many even more albums into 2010s, including 2009’s Blackbird’s Echo and 2014’s Kid of Paradise.
