Nine Times was shaped on Long Isle by singer/songwriter/guitarists John Hampson and Brian Desveaux, who had previously played together and apart in some local groupings. The music group was done by keyboard participant Jeremy Dean, bass participant Nick Dimichino, and drummer Vincent Tattanelli. Concentrating on their songwriting and distributed business lead vocals, Hampson and Desveaux holed up in Hampson’s house in Deer Recreation area woodshedding, after that released their very own debut record and started playing concert events. They gained WBAB’s Homegrown Talent Search and WLIR’s Greatest Unsigned Music group competition, made another CD independently, and finally agreed upon to Epic/550 Music, which released their debut major-label record, The Madding Group (its name a touch upon Thomas Hardy’s book Definately not the Madding Group) in-may 2000.
