Nicotine

Originally getting started like a self-described “indie/alternative” act in 1994, Nicotine were first introduced to punk and ska upon their first American tour through the summer of this year. Soon after time for their indigenous Tokyo, Howie Sato (vocals/acoustic guitar), Yasu (acoustic guitar), Total (bass) and Naoki (drum) significantly altered their audio to a thing that was far more intense and overly busy, while at exactly the same time melodic and catchy. Ultimately, this “fresh sound” led to their 1st mini-album Royal Mellow Day time, that was released independently Sky Information in 1996. Pursuing their 1997 full-length Hola Amigo!, Smoking re-released Royal Mellow Day time around the …Will Destroy You!!! EP in 1998; which, features the high energy pop-punk and ska undertones that these were impressed with upon their 1st tour of america.
