Though Strungk is well known primarily as an operatic composer, his instrumental works were even more suitable for his scoring techniques. He analyzed the organ along with his dad becoming his associate at age twelve at St. Magnus’ chapel in Brunswick, Germany. He also analyzed at Helmstadt University or college with Schnittelbach. Strungk kept several positions including 1st violin for the Wolfenbuttel courtroom chapel, 1660, and Kapellmeister in Dresden, 1692. In 1696 he resolved completely in Leipzig where he constructed operas for the movie theater. Among his functions are “Esther,” “Semiramis,” and “Alceste.” Both his melodic lines and counterpoint could be categorized as unforgiving and missing flexibility.
