Biography

Composer Nicholas Brodszky appreciated a profession that took him from Odessa, Russia, to Germany, where he joined the film sector in 1931. After many years’ achievement in Germany and Austria — keeping prior to the increasing Nazi Party — he emigrated to Britain by the end from the 1930s. 1 Russian-born composer of Hungarian parentage who worked on film scores in both Britain and the U.S.. He was educated in Rome, Vienna, Berlin and Budapest and started writing music for Viennese operettas. In films from 1930, he became best known for the song "Be My Love," written for the movie "The Toast of New Orleans", which became the signature song for Mario Lanza and a popular standard.
