CCM group NewSong were shaped in Valdosta, Georgia, in 1981 by Eddie Carswell, Billy Goodwin, Eddie Middleton, and Bobby Apon, who met while attending Morningside Baptist Cathedral. The quartet’s regional reputation quickly swelled, and in 1982 they agreed upon to Covenant Information to concern their debut LP, Boy in My Eye.
