CCM group NewSong were shaped in Valdosta, Georgia, in 1981 by Eddie Carswell, Billy Goodwin, Eddie Middleton, and Bobby Apon, who met while attending Morningside Baptist Cathedral. The quartet’s regional reputation quickly swelled, and in 1982 they agreed upon to Covenant Information to concern their debut LP, Boy in My Eye. A proceed to the term label preceded NewSong’s 1984 follow-up, THE TERM. Following outings including 1986’s Trophies of Elegance, 1987’s State Yes!, and 1989’s Light Your Globe further extended the group’s developing group of fans, and using their 1993 Benson label debut, All over the World, NewSong produced four CHR chart-topping strikes — “Even more God,” “Got Me Heading,” “Hero from the Trust,” as well as the name slice.
