THE BRAND NEW York Ska-Jazz Outfit is strictly what its name suggests: several NY ska musicians focused on exploring the links between ska and jazz. The account is normally all culled from best NY ska acts, rendering it something of the supergroup: market leaders “Rocksteady” Freddie Reiter (saxophone, vocals) and Rick Faulkner (trombone, vocals) hail in the Toasters, as will drummer/business lead vocalist Jonathan McCain, guitarist Devon Adam originates from the renowned Skatalites, and bassist Victor Grain and keyboardist Cary Dark brown play full-time using the Scofflaws. The group released its self-titled debut in 1995 to exceptional testimonials, and reconvened in 1997 to record the follow-up, Low Blow.
