New Orleans Nightcrawlers

THE BRAND NEW Orleans Nightcrawlers certainly are a dozen musicians from across the Crescent Town who work in several other outfits, included in this Dr. John and Dukes of Dixieland. Their various other gigs, however, usually do not prevent people from coming jointly being a cohesive entire on recordings, although the problem will hamper live shows, which are few in number. This situation has not held the group from amassing several honours. These honors add a Greatest of the Defeat Prize in 1996 for Greatest Traditional Jazz Record, another Greatest of the Defeat Prize in 1997 for Greatest Brass Band Record, a huge Easy Prize in 1997 for Greatest Contemporary Brass Music group, yet another Greatest of the Defeat Prize in 2001 for Greatest Contemporary Brass Music group Album. Appearances consist of New Orleans’ Jazz & Traditions Festival, Finland’s Imatra Big Music group Festival in 2000, London’s Gumbo Festival, the town Stages Festival kept in Birmingham, AL, and Les Rendezvous de l’Erdre staged in Nantes, France. The Nightcrawlers’ people are snare drummer Kerry “Fatman” Hunter, clarinetist and saxophonist Jason Mingledorff, saxophonists Ken “Snakebite” Jacobs and Brent Rose, sousaphone participant Matt “Tubop” Perrine, flügelhorn and trumpet participant Barney Floyd, bass drummer Tanio Hingle, vocalist and trombonist Craig “Sparky” Klein, trumpeter Kevin Clark, vocalist and percussionist Smiley Ricks, trombonist Rick Trolsen, and co-founder Tom McDermott.
