THE BRAND NEW Klezmer Trio is several three high-caliber musicians who make klezmer-rooted jazz — often with a significant rock edge. Electric powered bassist Dan Seamans sometimes uses results pedals which are more often within thrash rock and roll than jazz, clarinetist Ben Goldberg occasionally performs “fender reverb clarinet,” and flexible percussionist Kenny Wolleson performs as easily in the part of wailing rock and roll drummer as he will jazz time-keeper and marimba participant.
