Led by Carlos Kanno of Orquesta de la Luz, the Nettai Tropical Jazz Big Strap began as several friends playing for fun and progressed into an 18-part ensemble. Boasting four percussionists, a three-piece tempo section, and effective horns, the group released their 1st album, Reside in Yokohama, in 1998. That calendar year also saw japan discharge of their follow-up, Sept, that was released in the U.S. the next calendar year. My Favorite implemented in 2000.
