Having a doomy, eclectic, and technically masterful make of punk-addled hard rock and roll using what they explain as “nods towards the dirtbag rituals of ’70s rock, the grandeur of ’80s arena rock and roll, as well as the crunch of ’90s post-hardcore”, N.Con.C. trio Netherlands may be the brainchild of Timo Ellis (acoustic guitar, vocals), Ava Farber, (synth bass), and Zach Eichenhorn (drums). Founded in 2008 by Ellis, a serial collaborator who spent some time working with Cibo Matto, John Zorn, the Melvins, and Yoko Ono, merely to name several, the band released their debut recording, Fantasmatic in 2011. The trio’s sophomore outing, Silicon Vapor, fallen in 2013, accompanied by Audubon in 2016, the second option of which premiered via Prosthetic Information.
