Nelson Ângelo

Nelson Ângelo started his professional profession in 1966 linked to several composers from Minas Gerais referred to as Clube da Esquina, having had his “Fazenda” included by Milton Nascimento on his Clube da Esquina. With Nascimento, Ângelo published “Sacramento,” included on Milagres dos Peixes, and “Testamento” on Clube da Esquina No. 2. In 1967, Ângelo relocated to Rio de Janeiro where he continuing to execute at a number of different venues. Like a sideman for performers like Tom Jobim, Miúcha, Alaíde Costa, Sarah Vaughan, Elis Regina, Sérgio Mendes, Luís Eça, Luiz Bonfá, Milton Nascimento, Chico Buarque, and Edu Lobo, Ângelo performed in France, Britain, Norway, Mexico, U.S., Uruguay, and Belgium and/or documented many albums. With Cacaso, Ângelo published the musical Táxi and 50 tunes. In Paris where he resided, Ângelo documented Mineiro Pau and Naná Vasconcelos, Nelson Ângelo & Novelli (1974).
