Nell Bryden

American singer/songwriter Nell Bryden’s mixture of bluegrass, jazz, and country, self-described as contemporary Dixie, has drawn advantageous comparisons using the edgier latest efforts from Norah Jones. Blessed in Brooklyn in 1979 to a traditional soprano mom and artist dad, Bryden was raised in creative environment, and by age seven she was composing and directing her very own plays. She examined the cello for a decade and imagined becoming another Maria Callas, but after hearing Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin for the very first time at 15, she transformed musical path. While on a difference calendar year in Australia, she started writing songs on her behalf electric guitar, and in 2003 she documented her debut record, Day for Evening, in Nashville with renowned film and Television composer Fred Mollin. The documenting of her follow-up in New Orleans was empty halfway through when she went out of cash, but after selecting a dropped Milton Avery painting in her dad’s studio room, she used the amount of money to invest in the production from the record with Grammy Award-winner David Kershenbaum (Duran Duran, Bryan Adams). Championed by renowned Radio 2 DJ Bob Harris, second record EXACTLY WHAT DOES It Take? premiered through Cooking Vinyl fabric in ’09 2009. She’s since backed KT Tunstall and Keeping track of Crows, journeyed to Iraq to amuse the military, and made an appearance in the documentary Dazzling a Chord.
