NCT 127

Chart-topping K-pop son music group NCT 127 is among the offshoots from the Seoul-based NCT (“Neo Culture Technology”). Developed by S.M. Entertainment, NCT offers an unlimited amount of people that populate multiple “sub-units” located in different worldwide locales like Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, and Bangkok. The initial group was made up of people of SM Rookies. The 1st spinoff, NCT U, was announced in early 2016. They released a set of singles before another incarnation was shaped in July. NCT 127 presented seven people: Taeil Moon, Taeyong Lee, Jaehyun Jung, and Haechan (created Dong-hyuck Lee) from Korea, Yuta Nakamoto from Osaka, WinWin (created Dong Sicheng) from Zhejiang, China, and Tag Lee Min-hyung from Vancouver. The septet’s early singles “Open fire Pickup truck” and “ONCE MORE” appeared on the debut EP, NCT #127, which debuted at number 2 for the Billboard Globe Album chart. Later on that year, Tag and Haechan would sign up for the 3rd iteration, NCT Fantasy, releasing “NICOTINE GUM” in both Korean and Mandarin variations. In the meantime, NCT 127 added Johnny (John Seo of Chicago) and Doyoung (created Kim Dong-young) towards the ranks by the end of 2016. In January 2017, NCT 127 released their second mini-album, Limitless, which debuted atop the Billboard Globe Album chart.
