Natural Information Culture can be an improvisational, religious ensemble assembled by avant-garde jazz bassist/composer Joshua Abrams, a experienced of Chicago’s experimental music picture. The group’s hypnotic sound fuses components of minimalist traditional, Krautrock, drone, free of charge jazz, and several other styles, and their personal performances are extreme and exciting. Led by Abrams’ playing from the guimbri (a three-stringed bass lute while it began with North Africa), the Society’s shows include a revolving lineup, typically including Frank Rosaly and Mikel Avery on drums and Lisa Alvarado on harmonium and gong, with Emmett Kelly frequently contributing acoustic guitar and Ben Boye playing autoharp. Abrams 1st utilized the name Organic Info as the name of his 2010 LP on Eremite Information, including Kelly and Rosaly among its staff, along with drummer Noritaka Tanaka and vibraphone participant Jason Adasiewicz. The acclaimed launch was adopted in 2012 by Abrams’ Represencing LP, which presented a different cast, including flutist Nicole Mitchell, guitarist Jeff Parker, and drummer Chad Taylor adding to the recording. Veteran avant jazz drummer/percussionist Hamid Drake started performing using the Culture in 2015, becoming a member of them for shows aswell as adding to Abrams’ 2015 double-LP Magnetoception, which also included Kelly, Parker, Alvarado, and Boye within its lineup. All three of the LPs were acknowledged to Joshua Abrams like a single artist, using the group billed as Organic Information Culture for live shows; the first documenting properly acknowledged to Natural Info Culture was Automaginary, a cooperation with Chicago-based psych-drone group Bitchin Bajas, released by Pull Town in 2015. The Society’s Simultonality premiered by Eremite Information in 2017.
