Natiruts

The reggae roots music group Natiruts was formed in Brasília (Distrito Federal government) in 1994 beneath the name Nativus. In 1997, the group released the independent Compact disc Nativus, which got popular with “Presente de um Beija-Flor” and offered 40,000 copies. Sued from the music group Operating-system Nativos, they transformed the group’s name following a lengthy judicial fight to Natiruts. Reissued by EMI, the very first album offered 450,000 copies. Povo Brasileiro got strikes with “Povo Brasileiro” and “Proteja-se e Lute,” and Verbalize got success using its title track.
