Influenced by Louis Armstrong, Nat Gonella within the 1930s could possibly be regarded as the Wingy Manone or Louis Prima of England. He began playing within the jazz-oriented dance rings of Billy Natural cotton, Roy Fox, Ray Noble, and Lew Rock from 1929 to 1934 before leading his personal music group, the Georgians, called therefore because his edition of “Georgia on My Brain” was well-known.
