Nancy Vogl

Vogl began selecting tunes on the beat-up nylon-string electric guitar when she was 13, after that graduated to metal strings when she was 20. Following that she continued to become founding member (in Berkeley, California) of 1 of the initial feminist rings, and finished up touring just about any major folk membership and university in america. She released her initial solo record, Something to be on (Redwood Information), in 1984. A vacation to Nashville 2 yrs later created her album Combat Just like the Dancer (Olivia Information), a modern mix of nation, blues, and golf swing. Vogl’s reflective, complicated, visionary lyrics combine the sophistication and laughter of ’40s musical display tunes using the solid power of ’70s acoustic rock and roll, and wed the heartbreak of nation ballads using the clean choosing fun of folk.
