Nana Grizol

Athens, GA-based indie pop clothing Nana Grizol were formed in 2007 by vocalist/songwriter/guitarist Theo Hilton. Going for a cue from your town’s beloved Elephant 6 Collective, and also other slack-jawed, tuneful ’90s alt-rockers like Pavement and Teenage Fanclub, Nana Grizol’s easy mixture of post-punk, traditional rock and roll, and psychedelic pop first made an appearance in physical type in 2008 with THINK IT?S GREAT THINK IT?S GREAT. Released on Orange Twin, a label possessed by users of both Elf Power and Nana Grizol, the recording relied within the skills of mostly regional firepower, including Laura Carter (Elf Power, Natural Milk Resort), Robbie Cucchiaro (Music Tapes, Natural Milk Resort), Jared Gandy (Witches), Matte Cathcart and Kate Mitchell, Ian Rickert, Patrick Jennings, Michael Schneweis (Michael Jordan’s Touchdown Move), and single designer Madeline Adams. The music group’s sophomore work, “Ruth”, found its way to early 2010.
