Naim Amor

Parisian expatriate Gabriel Naïm Amor relocated from his indigenous France towards the saguaro-strewn surroundings of Tucson, AZ in 1997, wanting to augment his cinematic French avant-pop with particles of Sonoran Desert dust. Amor’s exclusive fusion of traditional film ratings, spaghetti traditional western jangle, and Seine-influenced subtlety provides colored many Tucson recording tasks since his appearance in the American Southwest. Composer/multi-instrumentalist Amor primarily caused percussionist Thomas Belhom in the aptly called Amor Belhom Duo. Along with lyrical insight from fellow French former mate pat/filmmaker Marianne Dissard and asked participants from the neighborhood Giant Fine sand/Calexico/Close friends of Dean Martinez axis (specifically, Howe Gelb, John Convertino, Joey Melts away, and Craig Schumacher), both relocated Frenchmen created two studio room albums throughout their tenure. These information, Wavelab and Amor Belhom Duo, ultimately saw UNITED STATES launch through Chicago-based Carrot Best Records in fall months 2001. Along with Amor Belhom Duo’s debut disk Wavelab Overall performance (merely an early on edition of Wavelab released on Normandie Desire Information in 1998), additional recordings from the pair have already been made available just in European countries (Reside in Tucson) or at displays (ANY MOMENT IN ANY MANNER). In 2000, Amor became a member of Belhom, Burns up, and Convertino for the documenting of Tete a Tete beneath the collective name ABBC; the recording premiered in THE UNITED STATES on Wabana Information. Amor’s single debut, the seven-song instrumental collection Soundtracks, made an appearance in fall months 2001 on Portland, OR’s FILMguerrero label. Using its running period of 29 moments bridging the chasm that separates EP and LP, the reflective, elegant Soundtracks was made up, performed, and documented in Tucson nearly completely by Amor (conserve token looks by Burns up, trumpeter John Mueller, and a sampled Belhom). In 2002, Amor released a cooperation with drummer/vibraphonist Jimmy Carr dubbed just Amor.
