Kansas Town stoner rock and roll trio Mythical Beast match the Black Hill and Wooden Shjips psychedelic revival picture, using their thunderous rumblings and moody doomscapes fronted by Corinne, a wild-eyed blonde with Nico appears and witch-like vocals. In springtime of 2007, following the music group played the initial Diamond Times Fest in NY, Greg Weeks, who captured the show, asked the group to become listed on his label Vocabulary of Rock, an imprint of Move Town. Their debut was made that May, in mere ten times at Weeks’ Hexham Mind studio room in Philadelphia. Properly replicating the ’70s audio, the record was recorded only using analog equipment — particularly, an MCI 2″ tape machine and a DDA blending gaming console. Sabbath vibe intact, Scales premiered on Oct 21, 2008, on a single day Vocabulary of Stone’s similar-minded work Large Hands released their debut.
