Hailing from Orlando, Florida, MY PAL Steve was led by singer/songwriter Steve Burry, a veteran of innumerable local rings in addition to an occasional single performer with a solid area cult pursuing. In early 1998, after self-releasing an EP known as The Schooling, he shaped MY PAL Steve with Eric Steinberg, Dave McMahon and Pat Koch, all three people of the favorite Gainesville music group Big White colored Undie; ultimately recruiting drummer Eric Gardner, the group documented their debut LP Wish and Wait, released that autumn for the Mammoth label.
