Mutha’s Day Out

Mutha’s Time Out’s heavy rock and roll and rap design belies the bandmembers’ youngsters in smalltown, Arkansas. Fed up with existence in Batesville, a town with a human population of 9,000, Mikal Moore (vocals), Brice Stephens (raps), Chuck Schaaf (acoustic guitar), Jeff Mogan (bass) and Rodney Moffit (drums) created Mutha’s DAY TRIP in past due 1991. They traveled to Memphis in Apr 1992 to discover a inexpensive recording studio; via an enthusiastic engineer, the music group was booked to try out the Crossroads Music Event that same week. A Chrysalis A&R rep, there to view another music group, saw Mutha’s DAY TRIP and authorized them rather. Their debut, My Spirit Is Wet, made an appearance in 1993.
