Muff Potter

Among Germany’s stronger alternative rock rings, Muff Potter began in the first ’90s as a reasonably typical German punk music group yet evolved quickly, ultimately securing major-label support by Common in the mid-2000s. Muff Potter had been created in 1993, in Rheine, North Rhine-Westphalia; vocalist/guitarist Thorsten Negelschmidt (aka Nagel; given birth to June 5, 1976, in Rheine) may be the just existing member from the initial lineup, which kept its 1st rehearsal on, may 9, 1993. Additional bandmembers include vocalist/guitarist Dennis Scheider (who became a member of the music group in 1995; given birth to Dec 22, 1977, in Emsbüren, Decrease Saxony), bassist Dominic Laurenz (aka Shredder; became a member of in 2000; given birth to January 12, 1981, in Steinfurt, North Rhine-Westphalia), and drummer Thorsten Brameier (aka Brami; became a member of in 1994; given birth to Feb 7, 1975, in Mesum, North Rhine-Westphalia). The band’s name was extracted from a personality in Tag Twain’s The Activities of Tom Sawyer; in the publication, Muff Potter is usually falsely accused of murder and eventually cleared from the criminal offense. Muff Potter the music group were pretty much a punk music group initially, with politics lyrics and fast music common of German punk. The band’s documenting debut was a demonstration tape, Bambule — Kleine Geschichten aus dem Grossen Knast, documented in March 1994 at Flat-Fish Studio room in Rheine. The official self-titled debut recording adopted in 1996, also documented at Flat-Fish in support of released on vinyl fabric. Schrei, Wenn Du Brennst (1997), the band’s second recording and first Compact disc, was the first ever to feature Scheider and Brameier on record. Another full-length recording, Bordsteinkantengeschichten (2000), adopted, as do the vinyl-only 7″ Potthoff EP (2000) and, a couple of years later on, Heute Wird Gewonnen, Bitte (2003). The second option release signaled a big change of design for the music group, which was shifting further from its punk origins and toward a far more powerful and inclusive sound (e.g., “Placebo Domingo,” from Heute, released a both an individual and video) that drawn major-label interest. So the following Muff Potter record, Von Wegen (2005), premiered by General and was the band’s initial to graph, breaking in to the German Best 100. Furthermore, the one “Alles Was Ich Brauch” charted aswell (at amount 88) and Von Wegen was repackaged for Japanese discharge as My Huckleberry Friend (2006).
